Calculate your average energy expenditure, and try to start exercising or involve in some physical activity so that you could use the extra amount of calories that you just ate. Here are some creative tips and tricks for you to enjoy these holidays and also manage to maintain your body weight.

Breakfast Matters A Lot!

Give yourself a treat with a healthy and nourishing breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it decides how much calories you are going to take a whole day. So, have your breakfast on time and make an effort to make it healthier.

Macronutrients Vs. Micronutrients

Have a look at what you are eating! If that comes under macronutrients then regularly check how much you are taking in the macronutrients because they make you gain weight. Make food that is equally nourishing and contains a normal amount of macronutrients and macronutrients, both. Use healthy fat in your food and limit the use of saturated fat.

Eat something before going to a party

This thing is an important deal here. If you are hosting a party or going to a dinner or lunch then you should eat something light before half an hour because your mind takes at least 20 minutes to process that food is in the tummy, and you feel full after that only. So have something light and make this a habit, so you don’t end up eating more than necessary on parties. This thing is an important deal here. Recipes with water-rich foods, vegetables, and fruits

You can always surprise your guests with the food that not many people serve at their tables. Make delicious food with recipes revolving around the use of vegetables, fruits, nuts, and other water-heavy food items. It is not only very economical but also helps in maintaining the weight.

Exercise

You can always exercise. It keeps you fit, mentally healthy, and physically active. Exercise should be in you, and if you think you don’t have time then try exercising just for five minutes daily! It is worth it! And it helps a lot. And once you realize you are putting an effort you check the calorie intake yourself and take care of your diet. So the element of controlling your diet would come automatically. Now, this is the emotional (I put and effort and energy), and rational appeal (If I am doing exercise, I should take a defined amount of calories) to your mind and body, and this appeal works and helps you stay fit.

Portion size

Try every food, explore your taste buds, enjoy your life, but then who is asking you to eat a large amount of it? Try everything, but in limits.

Control the amount you put in your plate, enjoy the food but that doesn’t mean that you take the entire dish for yourself. Portion size matters a lot and makes sure your plate is filled with healthier items more than oily and spicy items. Limit the amount you eat of every food item that is in front of you, and this way you can maintain the weight, too.

Limit the beverage intake

Drinks might look innocent, but the calories and sugar in them can really go inside your body and stick for long. So, limit the intake of drinks. You can fill your tummy with water first, and then can have some drink. In that manner, you can avoid having more drink than you need. This is a little trick and your body will thank you in the end.

For cakes, and other baked items

Cakes are the heart of any party, especially for Christmas and New Year eves. If you love cakes and other baked items, then you should try flourless cakes and use fat-free or low-fat milk in the making of the cake. Add honey in the cake for sweetness and avoid sugar. You can also add nuts and fruits in the cakes, pies, and brownies to make it more delicious and healthy. This way you can eat cake, and also can get nutrients your body needs.

Check your weight

Checking your weight might help you to regulate it according to your BMI. You can always see how much you need to lose to stay healthy.

Adopt a positive attitude

Adopt a positive attitude about life, and try to eat food for the sake of exploring it, for the sake of tasting it not for the sake of filling your tummy with loads of it. Abuse of anything is wrong and unhealthy. Eat and enjoy life with yummy foods, but control your urges of filling the stomach more than it can afford.

These were few tips and tricks that can help you to maintain your body weight these holidays while enjoying your holidays, parties, and of course the food fully with internal satisfaction and happiness! Because for some of us food is happiness!
